We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. Although `DEVlANT joined our community only a year ago, he's made sure to make his mark in as many ways as possible. I like the grain, but it looks too samey, so you can do the following to keep it slightly more random (which will make it more natural).
Do the grain of a separate PS layer, then do grain in a different direction on yet another layer. Use layer masks to vary what is seen, and change the opacity of the one with a "different direction" you can then merge both layers together and add more grain to it to get a more varied look. Also, if you scale up a part of one of the layers it will change the look completely.
Also, the picture looks kinda vintage which is nice, but the bannister is modern...
All that said tho, I do like it - well done.
